East Avenue Architecture Admirer Seeks Same

I walk down East Avenue on Sunday mornings and look at the mansions and imagine the lives that were lived inside them a century ago. I'm 36, an urban planner, and old buildings speak to me in a way that new construction never will. I want a man who notices his environment. Someone who looks up at buildings instead of down at his phone. I've been single for two years and I've been on enough bad dates to write a column about them. What I keep encountering is men who are physically present but mentally absent. I want full presence. The kind of attention that makes you feel like the only person in the room even when you're not.
