Arkansas River at dusk, missing you

The Arkansas River turns gold at sunset and I've taken approximately nine hundred photos of it and they all look the same, but I keep taking them because that golden hour over the water feels like proof that something beautiful is always happening if you pay attention. I'm thirty-one, a freelance journalist, and close to a year has gone by since a relationship I thought was going somewhere abruptly wasn't. I've healed and I'm ready, but I'm also being careful this time. I want a man who says what he means and does what he says — no gap between words and actions. I'm observant, a good listener, and I tend to notice the things people try to hide, which makes me a decent writer and a challenging date. I want someone who isn't afraid of being seen.
