Central High history, forward-looking heart

I live near Central High School and I walk past it almost daily, and I always feel the weight of what happened there — the courage it took for nine teenagers to walk through those doors. It reminds me that bravery is often quiet and ordinary and that history lives in the buildings we pass without thinking. I'm forty-one, a public health researcher, and my divorce was five years ago. One daughter, thirteen, who lives with me full-time. I'm looking for a man who thinks about the world beyond his own experience, who reads, who votes, who cares about things larger than himself. I'm intellectual, earnest, and I've been told I'm intense, which I've decided to interpret as a compliment. I want a partnership built on shared values, not just shared hobbies.
