Hillcrest coffee dates, lingering looks

There's a coffee shop in Hillcrest where the barista knows my name and my order and probably judges me for being there every single morning, but I don't care because routine is what keeps me anchored. I'm twenty-seven, a speech therapist at an elementary school, and roughly a year back a relationship ended when I realized I was accommodating his life instead of building mine. I'm done with that. I want a man who's interested in my life, not just interested in me fitting into his. I'm nurturing but I'm learning to save some of that for myself, which is harder than it sounds. I like slow mornings, good books, and the kind of conversations that make you lose track of time. I want someone who'd sit in that coffee shop with me and not check his watch.
