Lapsed church girl seeking something real

Thirty-two, I grew up in the church, I don't go every Sunday anymore, and I'm making peace with that. I work in education policy, I'm passionate about Mississippi's kids, and I want someone who cares about something bigger than himself. I'm single because I was with a man who thought caring was weakness. I want someone who cries at sad movies and isn't ashamed. Someone who'll come to a community event with me and not just stand in the corner. I'm earnest, I'm a little intense, and I'll talk about public schools at a dinner party if you let me.
