Burned before, trying again anyway

Thirty-seven, divorced after ten years, no kids but a dog named Pickles who is my whole personality. I live in a little place near Pope Park and I work from home doing freelance copywriting, which is either the dream or a slow descent into hermithood depending on the day. I'm gun-shy about dating because my ex did a number on me, but my therapist says I'm ready, so here I am. I want someone steady. Someone who calls when he says he will. Someone who'll walk Pickles with me along the river trail and not check his phone the whole time. I'm tender and trying not to lead with my wounds.
