Fox River Trail walker, heart wanderer

I walk the Fox River Trail almost every evening after work, headphones in, podcast on, and it's the thing that keeps me sane. I'm thirty-two, a veterinary technician, and roughly twelve months ago I ended a three-year thing with a man I loved but couldn't build a future with. He wanted different things and I couldn't pretend anymore. I'm in a good place now — settled in my career, close with my family, and genuinely content being by myself. But content isn't the same as fulfilled, and I miss having a person. I want someone who values the quiet parts of life as much as the exciting ones. A man who'd walk with me sometimes, no agenda, just moving and talking. I'm compassionate, sometimes too much so, and I have a soft spot for rescue animals and men who are gentle with both.
