Door County weekend, empty passenger seat

Every October I drive up to Door County for the fall colors and I stop at the same roadside stand for apple cider donuts and every year I sit in the car eating them alone thinking this is a weird thing to do by yourself. I'm thirty-six, a financial advisor, and two years ago I left a decade-long marriage because staying felt like a slow erasure. I'm not bitter — I'm relieved, and I'm rebuilding with intention. I want a man who has his own passions and respects mine, who doesn't need to be joined at the hip but shows up when it counts.
