Transplant From the Coast Who Chose to Stay

I moved here from Boston for a job in medical research and I planned to stay two years. That was seven years ago. I'm 38 and Grand Rapids grew on me the way a slow friendship does, quietly and then suddenly you can't imagine being without it. The cost of living let me buy a house. The brewery scene gave me a social life. The people are genuine in a way the East Coast never was. I'm looking for someone who chose this city deliberately, not someone stuck here by default. Attitude is everything to me. I want a man who sees his circumstances as a choice and takes ownership of his life. That mindset is rarer than you'd think and I find it deeply attractive.
