Cherry neighborhood girl wants genuine

I live in Cherry, one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in Charlotte, and I've watched gentrification try to push us out my whole life. I'm twenty four, community health worker, and my roots in this city run deeper than any skyscraper. I want someone who understands that history matters, who doesn't treat my neighborhood like a discovery, and who sees me as a person, not a project. I'm proud of where I come from and I won't shrink that for anyone's comfort. If you can't hold space for all of me, you don't get any of me. Simple as that.
