I'm 45, my youngest just went off to college at UConn, and suddenly my house is too quiet and I don't know what to do with myself. I've been a mom for twenty-three years and now I'm trying to remember who I was before that. I work part-time at a boutique in Westport and I read novels like they're going out of style. I want to meet a man who's in a similar place — past the career-building chaos, past the need to prove anything, just wanting someone to share an evening with. Porch wine when the weather allows is my religion. The Connecticut fall is wasted on me alone. Be my age or older and be kind, that's really it.
